Ministries

Children/Youth Ministry (Proverbs 22:6)

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6; NIV).  The Children’s Church ministry provides weekly Christian education through age appropriate lessons, arts and crafts, and song. The Children’s Church Ministry mission is to lovingly teach children the Word of God so that they will want to follow Christ and serve their family, church, and broader community in a way the demonstrates they are the future heirs of the Beloved community.

Comfort Ministry (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)

The Comfort Ministry is available to help with the spiritual needs of all members, particularly those who are bereaved, the elderly and the sick and shut-in.  It is important to be a listening ear and provide compassionate guidance. At some time in our life, we all have needed the reassurance that the suffering and pain we are feeling won’t last forever. We can face whatever it is because the presence of God is always with us in those painful times.

Fit for the Kingdom Health & Wellness Ministry (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

The Health & Wellness Ministry serves BCC by providing information on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles and community health activities. We emphasize illness prevention through education on healthy lifestyle choices.

We envision the body of Christ as whole vessels physically and spiritually that they are prepared for work needed to spread the gospel throughout the world. We understand the connection of ministry and wholeness and will empower the church to be healthy in order to spread the favor of God to our communities and the world to restore Godly living on earth.

Honor one another above yourselves.11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”

Thurgood Marshall Legal Ministry (Micah 6:8)

The Legal Ministry serves as a resource to the church and membership to actively engage in ministry and service.  We seek to do so in a manner that is consistent with the belief that the legal vocation is a calling from God requiring responsible stewardship in order to fulfill God’s charge.  We will engage in activities that provide to members and the community helpful information that relates to justice matters in and out of the formal judicial system.

Total Praise Liturgical Dance Ministry (Psalm 149:3)

“Let them praise Him in the dance”, all members of the church body praising and worshiping The Lord as “One Body”, on one accord; To see dance “speak” the word of the Lord to the saved and unsaved. (Psalm 149:3)

In alignment with our church, the chief mission of the Liturgical Dance Ministry is to Glorify God, Who has given us the highest revelation of Godself in the person of Jesus Christ. In glorifying God in our ministry of dance, we enter into worship, seeking to give fitting expression to the profound and dedicated commitment of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Media Ministry (Social Media, Audio/Visual/Photography) (Mark 16:15)

The Media Ministry is an exciting team of people that supports the Worship experience as well as other ministries throughout the church. We believe that the Body of Christ choosing to come together to worship God is the most important thing we do. As a working ministry, everything we do either adds to or distracts from the worship experience. What an awesome responsibility.  The Media Ministry utilizes print, audio, visual and social media to help spread the message of empowerment taught by Jesus the Christ and presented by the various BCC ministries. Members work together to present creative, inspirational messages in a relevant and accessible way, and to keep members of the church and the larger community informed about BCC’s history, current projects, and future plans.

Social Justice/Outreach   (Luke 4:18-19)

Part of the church’s mission must be to minister to people who are marginalized.  This ministry focuses on inequities in our society and tries to partner with other churches or organizations to promote justice and equality to all of God’s children. The Social Justice/Outreach Ministry speaks prophetically through issues education, community mobilization and public policy advocacy.

Safe Haven LGBTQ Ministry (Galatians 3:28)

The Safe Haven LGBTQ Ministry’s purpose is to continue to lead BCC to becoming a fully immersed Open and Affirming (ONA) church community where every person who walks through our doors will by the congregation’s modeling, feel safe, welcomed and experience the unconditional love of Christ regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.  We will do this by publicly affirming the LGBTQ community through adoption of the BCC ONA Covenant, by fully integrating LGBTQ persons into the life and ministries of the church, by engaging the surrounding LGBTQ community, and by becoming effective community advocates and a voice for equality and inclusion for LGBTQ persons, issues and concerns.

Daughters of Inheritance Women’s Ministry (Numbers 27:1-11)

God centered and focused, DI will walk fearlessly into their inheritance as a hospitable, united, inclusive body, determined to be agents of change, examples of unconditional love, and faithful servants of God. The DI will seize every opportunity to worship the Lord, encourage one another, forgive freely, and resist being easily offended.  DI’s vision will exemplify Christ by forgiving, accepting, and loving one sister to another.

Ironmen Men’s Ministry (Proverbs 27:7)

“As Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”

The mission of the BCC Ironmen’s Ministry is to provide men with the resources to develop Godly character and help equip them to influence their world for Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to bring men into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to unite men in Bible study, prayer, ministry, fellowship, and accountability, to become a supportive environment that touches the lives of the entire church family, to promote mentoring opportunities that lead to significant vital relationships, to become a magnet for service and a resource for other church ministries and missions, and to provide a series of events that will promote fellowship, outreach, evangelism and radical inclusiveness.

Act of Kindness Ministry (Benevolence) (2 Samuel 9:7)

“David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show kindness to you for the sake of your father Jonathan, and will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul; and you shall eat at my table regularly.”

The Act of Kindness (AOK) Ministry is responsible for assessing the needs of other persons in the community to which the Beloved Community Church (BCC) ministers. They also are charged with formulating a plan for meeting the needs of the church, inside and outside of BCC. The AOK ministry identifies church members and community persons who can help with providing appropriate assistance to those in need.

Counseling Ministry (Isaiah 58:12)

The Counseling Ministry is designed to address the psychological and spiritual needs of members of the Beloved Community Church by providing short-term, individual, group and family counseling for children, youth, adults and seniors that are anchored in the Word of God.  The counseling sessions are designed to alleviate individual and family stress and help church members develop and enhance important coping skills.  The ministry is also dedicated to assisting the Church in designing prevention and intervention programs that will empower Church members to function effectively in their home, work and/or school environments.

Priceless Gems Ministry (Domestic Violence/Human Trafficking) (Isaiah 43:1-6)

Our purpose is to educate the church and community on the lack of social justice in the travesty of human trafficking and domestic violence. We develop purposeful, trusting relationships with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence by listening, coordinating supportive events, investing in their stories, and spending quality time. We also give support to organizations that provide services for survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence.
